The beautiful landscape of Oregon surrounds the small city of Sisters. Situated just north and west of Bend Oregon Sisters is a rustic town nestled between mountains and picturesque lakes. The city undertook a project to beautify their downtown district with new decorative fixtures.
Portland landscape architect Tim Strand, of GreenWorks PC, turned to Sternberg Lighting to help execute his design for a unique and highly sustainable downtown lighting standard. The 16’ tall assembly combines real wood poles and arms crafted from Oregon grown Douglas Fir, with LED Prairie series fixtures.
The result is a beautiful, high performance light standard, built by Sternberg Lighting and TimberWood, featuring twin banner arms, and twin flag holders. A total of 24 ODOT approved assemblies highlight the revitalized downtown area along US Highway 20 / Cascade Avenue, providing efficient and effective lighting, while preserving the night sky, and complementing the high desert ambience of the town.
